Keenan Schools - Excess Workers' Compensation

The Schools Alliance for Workers' Compensation Excess (SAWCX II) is a non-profit, member-owned and operated joint powers authority, providing California public schools with excess workers' compensation protection since 1986. SAWCX II is designed to serve self-funded districts who prefer to independently retain their risk of loss in the primary layer. Coverage within the pooled layers of the program are provided through a combination of risk retention and transfer, depending on market conditions.

SAWCX II's mission is to facilitate the local governance and management of workers' compensation self-funded programs by providing selected specialized services, risk management and broad coverage for workers' compensation excess claims that are high quality and cost effective, for individual school districts, community colleges and school joint powers authorities in California.
